FAQ

What conference spaces do you have?

The Continental offers one of the most flexible conference precincts on the Mornington Peninsula. From intimate boardroom sessions to large scale plenary conferences and gala dinners every space within the precinct is bookable. Halcyon Hall connects directly to the Sunset Terrace for outdoor lunches with ocean views.

The Grand Ballroom brings heritage character to medium sized groups. The Gallery and Coppins Lounge handle smaller sessions and breakouts. Barlow and CeeCee’s step in when a breakout needs a completely different energy. Up to six distinct spaces can run simultaneously meaning your program can span multiple rooms and multiple atmospheres without anyone leaving the building.

Do you offer delegate packages?

Yes. Our Full Day Delegate Package is $120 per person and our Half Day Delegate Package is $105 per person. Both include espresso coffee and artisan teas, table stationery and water, a networking lunch and a dedicated personal event manager.

Morning and afternoon tea are included in the full day package.

Is there accommodation on site?

Yes. With 108 InterContinental rooms within the precinct your delegates can arrive, settle in and never have to leave.

Room blocks are available for conference groups and our events team will coordinate everything as part of your overall program. Corporate rates are available.

What AV equipment is available?

All spaces are equipped with state of the art AV including drop down projectors, screens and in-house audio speakers. Full AV setups with sound or video conferencing attract a daily fee of $750 for Halcyon Hall and the Grand Ballroom and $500 for The Gallery.

Additional equipment including staging, lecterns, microphones, whiteboards and lighting is available on request.

Can we use multiple spaces across the same event?

Absolutely. The Continental can run up to six distinct spaces simultaneously making it ideal for multi-stream conferences with breakout sessions.

Our events team will work with you to configure the right combination of spaces for your program.

What dining options are available for our group?

Every meal at the Continental is a different experience. The Sunset Terrace is perfect for lunch with ocean views. Ember’s private dining room suits intimate leadership dinners. CeeCee’s can be hired exclusively for cocktail style welcome events.

The Beer Garden works well for casual arrivals and Halcyon Hall for gala dinners or awards nights. No two meals on the program need to feel the same.

Is there a venue buyout option?

Yes. For the ultimate conference experience you can gain exclusive use of the entire hotel and venue precinct. From pool deck cocktail events to private dinners at Ember our team will work with you to activate every space to its full potential. Price on application.

What team building and after-hours activities are available?

We offer a range of on-site team building experiences including wine and cheese pairings, cocktail making classes and wellness sessions at Aurora Spa & Bathhouse.

For something further afield we can help coordinate winery tours, dolphin swims, clifftop hikes and golf on the Peninsula. In the evening Barlow is available for private hire with options including comedy shows, murder mystery nights, trivia and DJ events until 3am.

How far in advance should we book?

We recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred dates particularly for peak season between October and March.

That said our team will always do their best to accommodate shorter lead times so it is always worth getting in touch.

Is there parking available?

Underground parking is available for hotel guests at $20 per vehicle per night. Public parking is also available on Ocean Beach Road and surrounding streets. For large conference groups we recommend communicating parking arrangements to delegates in advance.

Can we have live music or a DJ?

Yes. DJs and live bands are welcome to play until 11pm within the indoor event spaces. Acoustic is allowed on the sunset terrace until 9pm. For more complex audio visual requirements our team can connect you with trusted suppliers.

How does the planning process work?

From the moment you confirm your booking a dedicated personal event manager is assigned to your conference.

They will guide you through every detail from room configuration and catering to AV setup and the evening program ensuring the day runs exactly as planned without you having to manage the logistics.
